MTCC - MSU Park County Extension 4-H

Currently, 49.5% of students in Park County (in Livingston, MT) enrolled in the K-12 system are enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program, and 1 in 3 high school seniors have no intention of pursuing higher education. There is a gap in local afterschool 4-H programming (and programming in general with the exception of school-based athletic programming) for low-income students ages 12-16. The VISTA will help build new afterschool enrichment opportunities for youth to develop early career and interest-based skill exploration to help youth engage in and seek opportunities for post-secondary success. MSU Extension’s mission is to improve the lives of Montana citizens by providing unbiased, research-based education and information that integrates learning, discovery and engagement to strengthen the social, economic and environmental well-being of individuals, families, and communities. MSU Extension has a presence in all 56 counties of Montana.
