OneStar:Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Fund Development VISA
Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group (CBDRG) focuses on providing hope and rebuilding homes for the Coastal Bend's less fortunate in the wake of disaster. We are a local charitable non-profit hub for a network of volunteer organizations active in disaster and gracious donors, helping to match survivors' unmet needs to available recovery resources. Due to Hurricane Harvey we are currently serving six affected counties in the Coastal Bend of Texas (Aransas, Bell, Kleberg, Nueces, Refugio, and San Patricio) with an estimated 8,000 homes to be repaired, rebuilt, or replaced. Research shows that natural disasters disproportionality impact poor and marginalized communities and that those living in poverty struggle the most to recover. To help with preparedness and resiliency of Texas communities, we are searching for a motivated individual to help develop fundraising methods and communications.
