MediCorps - Summer - Event Marketing Campaign Co-ordinator

Established in 1971, Lake County Free Clinic (LCFC) exists to address the unmet health care needs of the residents of our community through the provision of quality medical and dental care. To that end, LCFC provides medical and dental care, including lab services and medication, to those unable to access it elsewhere. LCFC is the only remaining free clinic in Northeast Ohio serving Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula and eastern Cuyahoga Counties. In 2017, LCFC sought to align its better align its fundraising efforts with its mission and established the Run for the Health of It 5K Run. This year, we are adding a one-mile walk course and are excited to expand the opportunity for additional participants. Every dollar raised by this event helps to provide $10 in care, and these unrestricted dollars are vital to helping maintain or increase our programs & services.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will be a vital member of the Development and Community Engagement team by promoting and helping to coordinate Lake County Free Clinic's second annual Run for the Health of It 5K Race & One-mile Walk; and assisting with organization's general social media and marketing efforts. Successful candidates will be strong, organized communicators who have experience writing promotional copy, coordinating events (race experience helpful) and working with media and volunteers. Social media marketing experience and utilization required. Having some design and web communications (website updates, e-newsletter creation, etc.) experience preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum Associates degree required, in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Fundraising/Development, Social Work or related fields. Must hold valid driver's license and be able to work some evenings and weekends (scheduled in advance) to attend meetings or events.
