MediCorps - Summer - Volunteer Guide and Quality Resource

The Hartville Migrant Center (HMC) is one of only two free clinics remaining in Stark County Ohio. It has serviced the 350 - 400 migrant farm worker and their families for over 50 years. The HMC provides free medical care as well as adult and child programming to feed the mind, body and soul of these workers and families. The programming offered each growing season is made possible through the over 100 volunteers and students that assist in the mission and purpose of the HMC. Working with the volunteers is a rewarding, but challenging job with consistent communication being of highest priority. The medical clinic is open three to four days a week through the generosity of many physicians and nurses. Providing quality medical care to a vulnerable population is a challenge with so many idfferent providers. This position will assist the staff in creaating an air of continued communication through orientation as well as quality assurance. Many times errors on charts are due to unfamiliarity to paperwork, or business that causes errors of omission and this VISTA person will be able to locate and staff can correct.
