IO-Great Expectations Volunteer Engagement Specialist (MAVA)

Advance your career while making a difference in the lives of low income kids and families! Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners is seeking a highly motivated and energetic leader to help us build the volunteer infrastructure for our cradle-to-career education initiative, Great Expectations (GE). Work together with an innovative and highly supportive team to expand and refine this exciting new initiative. Service activities will focus on three main objectives: (1) solidifying the process to enable volunteers in the Great Expectations Initiative to identify the need for new interventions and/or, improve existing interventions to fill roles in our community to improve the academic success of students living in low income families. 2) Piloting and evaluating the transition to volunteer-led training program to ensure that new and existing Great Expectations volunteers are effective in increasing academic engagement for low income youth. (3) And finally, establishing internal and external processes for timely and effective communication between GE partners, executive committee, Action Teams, volunteers, and the community. Interfaith Outreach will provide ongoing support and training while assisting you in networking with district school staff and community leaders for professional development. You will have the opportunity to work with a respected suburban nonprofit addressing the growing problem of suburban poverty, learn from an organization with a strong commitment to community engagement and volunteerism, and play a key role in community collaboration at an exciting level. Interfaith Outreach will provide you with monthly gas cards to offset travel costs. Help connect the passion and care of our community with real opportunities to make a difference in the lives of children today and beyond! Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early. Please email your cover letter and resume to Matt Miller at mmiller@iocp.org.
