TRACES Best Practice VISTA
 
 
 
Better Together Central Oregon (bettertogethercentraloregon.org) is regional, cross-sector partnership working collectively to improve child and youth success from before birth to career. VISTA Members will focus their outreach and partnership development efforts in four priorities along the cradle to career continuum: 1) Early Learning and Wellness, 2) Supporting Families, 3) Bridging vulnerable transitions and 4) Aligning education/training with career. The VISTA will serve in critical support of the complex social issue of ensuring long-term student success. VISTA will work to increase the capacity of United Way of Deschutes County (TRACES) project (deschutesunitedway.org) to serve rural, at-risk families by developing and enhancing trauma informed practices in the region.

Member Duties : In partnership with Better Together, United Way of Deschutes County -TRACEs project supports adoption of practices that make it easier for people to be resilient. TRACEs (Trauma Resilience and Adverse Childhood Experiences) is a partnership dedicated to nurturing resilience. The partnership has a robust shared agenda in place with dozens of community partners working in alignment to make it easier for people to thrive. The strategy is based on the Spectrum of Prevention planning model and includes: 1. Creating Community Awareness & Knowledge 2. Supporting and Training Providers 3. Strengthening Networks 4. Adopting proven practices VISTA will create and embed a way for partners to always have access to a toolkit of proven practice and entice and support a cadre of early adopter organizations to review, consider and implement new practices.
