Lorain County Opioid Action Team Community Engagement VISTA

The Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ADAS) Board coordinates our county’s substance abuse prevention, treatment initiatives by working with others including schools, city/county leaders, children services, faith leaders, recovery communities, service providers and others. Our services include contracting with Ohio certified treatment and prevention providers and recovery housing entities to ensure that Lorain County’s residents in need of substance abuse services are available. To address the opioid issues in Lorain County, ADAS coordinates the Lorain County Opioid Action team. This team is working towards two goals: Reduce Overdose deaths and increase access to treatment and recovery supports. Our work uses a prevention framework through an action plan through two workgroups (data and community engagement) and an Advisory Committee.
