Opiate Hub Planning Specialist

The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Lucas County (MHRSB) is the community safety net for the uninsured, under-insured or indigent persons needing mental health and/or addiction services. These individuals are the most vulnerable individuals and least able to afford these services. This includes the working poor, those who are 0-250% below poverty, those who are incarcerated and those who are homeless. We are a County Board established by state law and we have been in existence for 50 years. As the public funder of mental health and addiction services, it is important to us to educate the community about mental illness and addiction, the availability of treatment and support for people dealing with these challenges and the message that treatment is effective and people recover. Our mission is to cultivate a high-quality network of resources that inspires personal recovery and promotes mental wellness for Lucas County residents. The role of the Opiate Hub Planning Specialist will be to help strengthen the MHRSB’s planning efforts, education/training strategies, and communications to the community and stakeholders regarding the opioid epidemic through various assessments, research, and engagement. The goal for the project is to further local planning efforts by researching best practices and assessing current resources. The Opiate Hub Planning Specialist will work directly with the Director of Planning and Quality, and will collaborate with additional staff to determine the appropriate audiences to engage for successful completion of the project. The information collected by this role will help inform MHRSB’s staff and Trustees as to the needs and gaps identified. Data collected by the completion of the project will be used for benchmarking. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is curious, enjoys collaborating, and has a passion for visual and written data.
