Alaska Capital City Multi-Focus Program
 
 
 
Alaska's Capital City Multi-Focus program has opportunities available with at-risk children and youth, the homeless population, homeless families, homeless teens, disabled individuals and veterans. AmeriCorps Members connect homeless families with a place to stay; they promote and provide inclusion of individuals with disabilities; they conduct youth groups with at-risk youth; they provide a structured play through PlayWorks during recess. All opportunities are intended to impact and/or reduce ACE scores.

Member Duties : Alaska's Capital City multi-focus program seeks to impact and/or reduce ACE scores within the community of Juneau through a variety of partner host sites. One position provides tutoring with at risk-teens; One position provides literacy activities with at-risk children; One position provides family and youth engagement activities with at-risk families; one position provides health education and increasing access to care at a homeless clinic; One position works with at-risk children and one with at-risk youth at a shelter; One position works with at-risk children at an elementary school and will be incorporating playworks into recess; One position will work specifically with homeless families and homeless teens; Two positions will work with volunteers; One position will work with individuals with disabilities by providing access to medical devices and inclusion activities; One position will work with educating at-risk individuals and the community at suicide.

Permits attendance at school during off hours ,  Permits working at another job during off hours ,  Car recommended ,  Uniforms provided and required .
