| Member Duties : The summer VISTA will assist in coordinating the Lift Up youth employment program. In 2019 this program provided summer jobs for over 300 local youth. Over 120 businesses participated in the 8-week program which gave the youth between the ages of 16-19 an opportunity to learn soft skills and on the job training. The program’s overall objectives are to increase internship, apprenticeship and mentorship opportunities for 500 students in the Greater Savannah area and to identify visionary business partners who are willing accept participating students and invest in Savannah’s future workforce. The summer VISTA will work with city staff and community partners to coordinate program efforts and support the youths’ employment placements. The VISTA will document program learnings, data and issues for change/development for the following year.
