Summer Enrichment Program VISTA- Wesley Community Center
 
 
 
Since 1949, Wesley Community Centers of Savannah, Inc.’s mission is to enhance the economic, educational, and spiritual growth, through excellence in early learning care and services, for women, children, and families. The Summer Enrichment Program VISTA will work directly with campers, ages 5-12, enrolled in Wesley’s Youth Arts Camp.

Member Duties : Duties include implementing activities such as field trips, providing access to fresh and healthy food, lesson and activity planning, and implementation based on cultural thematic units of study and literacy. Two main outcomes for camp are 1) ensuring campers meet or exceed public school summer reading requirements and 2) helping campers maintain or improve academic performance to prevent summer learning loss. The Summer VISTA should be willing to adapt to camper needs, be familiar with the homeless and or low income population, be flexible and receptive to supervision, and have a genuine desire to work with children in a fun, creative environment.
