MAVA VISTA Leader 2018-19
The Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration (MAVA) VISTA program develops, expands, or improves volunteer programming that connects Minnesotans to the resources they need to move out of poverty. Current project sites include: Community Emergency Assistance Programs, Community Involvement Programs, Interfaith Outreach, Jeremiah Program, Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly, Minnesota Children’s Museum, The Open Door, Second Harvest Heartland, and The Sheridan Story. MAVA is a nonprofit association for people who lead volunteers in Minnesota. We connect, educate, strengthen and advocate for volunteer engagement leaders and their organizations to positively impact communities. As the VISTA Leader you will receive your certification in volunteer leadership, learn about the evolving field of volunteer engagement, network with local and national leaders in the field, and contribute your creativity to a small, fun nonprofit.

Member Duties : As the VISTA Leader, you will champion 9 VISTA members as they develop volunteer programming that addresses economic, education, and health inequity in MN. Duties include providing peer coaching and resources to members, leading monthly cohort trainings, conducting VISTA member outreach and recruitment, and evaluating program effectiveness. In exchange for your service you will receive $1,226/mo, choice of a $5,920 education award or $3,000 end of service stipend, and access to professional development funds. MUST SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE ONE FULL-TIME SERVICE TERM (VISTA, other AmeriCorps, or Peace Corps) TO APPLY. Position begins August 2018. Open until filled.
