Focus: HOPE Neighborhood Network Member May 2018

FOCUS: HOPE MISSION - Recognizing the dignity and beauty of every person, we pledge intelligent and practical action to overcome racism, poverty, and injustice. And to build a metropolitan community where all people may live in freedom, harmony, trust and affection. Black and white, yellow, brown and red from Detroit and its suburbs of every economic status, national origin and religious persuasion we join in this covenant. The HOPE Village Initiative is a long-term, comprehensive, place-based initiative designed to radically change the odds of success for children, their families and the neighborhoods immediately surrounding Focus: HOPE's campus. The initiative builds on Focus: HOPE's existing strengths in delivering workforce development training and education, its history of providing early childhood education, and its asset-based community development work. The initiative aims to create a pipeline of opportunity, with strong supports and access to opportunity from cradle to post-secondary education. The Initiative aims to ensure that by the year 2031, 100% of the residents in the service area will be educationally well-prepared, economically self-sufficient, and living in a safe and supportive environment.
