Children and Family Services Outreach VISTA

The goal of Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is the safety, permanency, and well-being of children. We achieve this through investigating allegations of abuse and neglect, assessing child safety, providing services and support to keep children safe and if possible preserve and stabilize families, and when needed providing foster care and adoption services that meet the child’s needs. Currently, we are seeing a steep increase in the number of children and families entering our system, partly due to the opioid crisis. For example, we are working with almost 5,000 children in our various programs which is a 33% increase in just over one year! The VISTA will help our children and families by strengthening and building the volunteer, donation, and community outreach programs currently in place and creating new opportunities/programs. We are looking for a VISTA member who is highly motivated, creative, organized, passionate, and who has good communication skills. We will provide professional development and training opportunities to increase your knowledge and skill set. We will support you, listen to you, and value your time and contributions.
