ShareCorps -WUCC- Summer Youth Program Staff
 
 
 
Washington United Church of Christ is a mission church in the low-income neighborhood of Camp Washington in Cincinnati. Our outreach programs include weekday lunch, Sunday breakfast, a food pantry, after-school meal and tutoring. The Summer Youth Program runs Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 4 through July 26, for about 50 children. Groups from other churches stay with us a week at a time to help with the children. The children eat breakfast, snack and lunch each day, and follow a curriculum that includes arts/crafts, community building, recreation, nutrition education, and weekly field trips.

Member Duties : Your service with us will be as the "Kitchen Assistant" to help us ensure that hungry kids get a nutritious meal this summer! You will work with the experienced and friendly cook and kitchen staff to plan, shop, prepare and serve breakfast and lunch for up to 100 people per meal. You will help ensure food is handled and stored in a safe manner. You will also help us gather statistics on the numbers of meals served this summer...helping us to document our impact.
