BI’s mission is to be a primary force for creating and sustaining community revitalization in Middletown Ohio; one student, one family and one neighborhood at a time. We use a family centered approach with programming that scans the breath of the family life cycle from birth to adult with programs that support babies being born full term with a healthy weight, children fully prepared to enter kindergarten, academic and social/emotional success for children 5 – 12, youth graduating from high school and enrolled in college or a post-secondary career training and parents working for a living wage to provide for their families.

Member Duties : The VISTA Summer Associate will assist us with the implementation and execution of Camp Pride through the following activities: • To provide a structured and safe environment which stresses responsible behavior, respect for others, and positive attitudes for all students. • Monitor groups of 10-15 youth • To provide opportunities which encourage social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth. • To provide quality summer camp academic and enrichment activities. • To be a caring staff who will interact with the students in small group and individual situations. • To provide communication with parents regarding their children’s academic successes and improvements. • Coordinate schedule with volunteers, agency partners and tutors • Assess student progress and submit data to site coordinator • Assist with family and community engagement events
