ShareCorps -Mayor's Partnership- Community Outreach Liaison
 
 
 
The Mayors' Partnership for Progress is a consortium of Mayors and city managers from 12 counties (over 60 communities) in Southeastern Ohio. The purpose of the group is to provide a platform to share information and resources via open forums and invited presenters to better address common issues faced by municipalities throughout the region. The Mayors Partnership for Progress' mission is to enhance the skills and knowledge of SE Ohio Mayors and create municipal government that is effective and responsive to the needs of constituents. *This is a VISTA sub-site of the Ohio Association of Foodbanks ShareCorps project.

Member Duties : VISTA will assist with create outreach materials for the MPP including website implementation, social media, etc. This person will help with planning, implementing and evaluating education and awareness building programming that will help elected officials in Southeast Ohio provide their constituents with access to resources in food, energy, housing, finances, and especially technology access. These resources will help alleviate poverty and help municipalities better connect to non-profit and community services. This will be done through volunteer recruitment, creating a tool for resources to be posted and share amongst municipalities, and building a system that will institutionalize these resources and processes.
