Hoopa TCCC - AmeriCorps Member
 
 
 
AmeriCorps Hoopa TRIBAL CCC is a residential national service program for adults AGES 17-24. This program is designed to meet the needs of those with little or no life skills. TRIBAL CCC is based in NORTHERN RURAL CALIFORNIA on the HOOPA INDIAN RESERVATION, from which they perform community service. Members work in teams of 8-10 members, supervised by a leader. The goal of our program is to assist communities/organization that need help in environmental & unmet human needs while you receive training and experience from the work performed. AmeriCorps*TCCC members conduct service projects that help meet needs in education, protect the environment, promote public safety, and respond to natural disasters. Member travel occasionaly during May-Sept to different areas within the US. Corps Members Selection is made monthly. Must be able to pass a Criminal History Check & pre-employment drug & alcohol test. Member Duties : Members will work in a team of 8-15 members. (36)staggered participants become each other's support system during 1700 service (typically takes 6-9 months. Hoopa TCCC engages young women & men in meaningful work, as environmental stewards working outdoors in intensive service, to meet critical needs in environmental restoration, public safety & disaster response. They will enhance their skills in education & receive training in everything from carpentry to disaster preparedness to cultural native American experiences and projects to learning how to cook for the corps. This program is for those with little or no work experience & those that possess little job skills & have never been to college or have never lived on their own. AmeriCorps Tribal CCC is an opportunity to make a difference in your own life as well as those around you. Please Disclose if you are claiming NATIVE AMERICAN RECOGNITION. On the first day of hire- will be subject to a drug/alcohol test including marijuana.
