Associate, VISTA at Horizons Student Enrichment Program-NCN

Horizons at New Canaan Country School (NCCS) was founded in 1964 and was the first program in what has become a fast-growing national network of programs. Horizons at NCCS helps underserved students from Stamford and Norwalk public schools to develop strong academic, social, and emotional skills, habits of mind and the resilience to succeed in school and pursue a meaningful, choice-filled life from Kindergarten through college enrollment. Reporting to the Executive Director, the VISTA member will develop an array of original communications in a variety of media that celebrate and document the program’s rich history and its growth and impact over 55+ years. The VISTA member will develop strategies for tracking, engaging and interviewing alumni, donors, volunteers and staff representing important milestones in the program’s history and development. The VISTA member will also be responsible for cataloguing the program’s photographic history and incorporating those into the multi-media story that is created. The VISTA associate will be responsible for updating web content to ensure it is accurate and reflects the full history and impact of the program. In addition, the VISTA associate will be responsible for ensuring that the organization has processes in place to collect, analyze and present data that reflects its impact. This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging leader with excellent communications and technical skills to develop a professional portfolio. The VISTA member will have the opportunity to receive targeted training and professional development to support success. Horizons at NCCS provides a high-energy, team-oriented work environment for a close-knit staff of six, within a vibrant and supportive school community.

Member Duties : - Research and document key developmental milestones in the organization’s history. - Research and document donors, staff, and volunteers who contributed to key milestones. - Conduct and record interviews with donors, staff, volunteers, students and alumni. - Catalogue the program’s library of photographs. - Develop systems for tracking indicators for key metrics. - Develop infographics and visualizations of key metrics. - Develop original multi-media (print, video, web, social media) communications using stories, photos, and data. - Refresh website to ensure accurate, timely and compelling content. - Research college and career resources and develop a comprehensive online resource library for use by high school students, their families, and Horizons academic coaches
