ShareCorps -SAFS- Social/Youth Service Volunteer Facilitator
 
 
 
Our mantra is to strengthen Sylvania One Family at a Time. We offer Family, Social, and Youth programs and services. Our F.U.N (Families United in Nutrition) Program is a collaboration with the Ohio State University extension office where we offer two 8-week sessions on health and wellness education, how to shop on a budget, couponing, and the value of food and planning on a budget. We also offer weekly food distributions in our choice pantries, monthly distributions of the senior government commodities, job resource fairs, rent and utilities assistance, summer enrichment camp, a back to school backpack program, and monthly free dinners and lunches. We also have our Youth Community Garden to teach STEM education and coordinate and distribute fresh produce in our food pantry. Food and personal care drives are programs that help us supplement our families' needs.

Member Duties : Help the agency become more organized with a strong database of volunteers, donors, and clients. Gain hands-on experience in managing inventory and stocking food and personal care donations for families in need, food distribution programs, holiday baskets, and backpacks for youth in the community as well as in grant writing and donor solicitation. Engage and work alongside Sylvania Area Family Services staff in the Family, Social, and Youth Services department.
