ShareCorps -NOCAC- Financial Empowerment Community Liaison
Northwest Ohio Community Action Commission (NOCAC)is a locally controlled, private, non-profit organization that was incorporated in 1965. NOCAC is a primary source of direct support for more than 500 low-income households in our six-county jurisdiction. In2016, NOCAC's Financial Empowerment Program, Summer Food Service Program, and Ohio Benefit Tax Clinics: -Provided 15,865 lunches to 2,612 individual children, engaging 969 volunteers who donated 3,239 hours of service through the Summer Foods Program. -1,334 tax returns were filed by volunteer counselors who donated 658 hours of their time. -The Financial Empowerment Program served 322 clients through Getting Ahead, financial coaching, financial literacy classes, and our matched savings program.

Member Duties : Work with a dynamic team committed to helping low-income individuals and families achieve their financial goals. Establish partnerships to eliminate barriers that would otherwise keep clients from participating in programs. Research, develop, and design volunteer training opportunities, expand current marketing resources for social services promotion, recruit volunteers and support Summer food and tax programs. Get experience in public speaking, grant writing, and training facilitation. Join a team dedicated to developing our young professionals and providing opportunities for new ideas and continued learning.
