ShareCorps -NOCAC- Financial Empowerment Community Liaison
 
 
 
Northwest Ohio Community Action Commission (NOCAC)is a locally controlled, private, non-profit organization that was incorporated in 1965. NOCAC is a primary source of direct support for more than 500 low-income households in our six-county jurisdiction. In 2017, NOCAC's Financial Empowerment Program, Summer Food Service Program, and Ohio Benefit Tax Clinics: -Provided 15,713 lunches to 2,393 individual children, engaging 790 volunteers who donated 2,788 hours of service through the Summer Foods Program. -1,495 tax returns were filed by volunteer counselors who donated 745 hours of their time resulting in refunds of $1,838,564 -Served 466 children, ages 3-5 and their families through Head Start. -102 homeless households were served through Rapid Re-Housing and Homelessness Prevention -103 home received weatherization assistance and repair

Member Duties : As the Financial Empowerment Community Specialist with the Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission, you will work with a dynamic team committed to helping low-income individuals and families achieve their financial goals. You will have the opportunity to establish partnerships to eliminate barriers that would otherwise keep clients from participating in our programs. You will research, develop, and design volunteer opportunities, expand current marketing resources for social services promotion, recruit volunteers and support our summer food program and tax programs. You will also get experience in public speaking, grant writing, training facilitation and a variety of professional development opportunities.
