2022/2023 Volunteer Maryland Volunteer Coordinator
 
 
 
Volunteer Maryland (VM creates volunteer programs with nonprofit organizations, government agencies and schools. Through a year term partnership with service sites, VM places individual AmeriCorps members as volunteer coordinators. With training and support, the volunteer coordinator's role is to create a volunteer program that fits the needs of the organization and the community.

Member Duties : AmeriCorps members serving as Volunteer Coordinators develop volunteer programs. These are individuals like you who dedicate 11 months to full-time service as members of AmeriCorps. VM members range from age 17-79, in education levels from GED to PhD. VM members range in gender, race, religion and geographic background. They share a willingness to take on a challenge and a desire to create a lasting change in the communities. Volunteer Coordinators will be engage with volunteer recruitment, screening, placement, training, supervision (in some cases), evaluation and recognition of volunteers. Volunteer Maryland AmeriCorps members strategically leverage community engagement with the mission of the organizations where they are placed. They do outreach, plan events, as well as measure and develop storytelling skills around the impact of volunteer service.
