African American Youth Harvest Foundation Coordinator VISTA
 
 
 
The Harvest Foundation exists to effectually address disparities and ensure low-barrier access to vital educational, economic, and enrichment resources to underserved, at-risk youth and their families on their path to self-sufficiency. Since 2006, the Harvest Foundation spearheads mission-aligned and collaborative initiatives to ensure low barrier access to vital resources intended to transition youth and families toward self-sufficiency and effectually address the disparities of health, educational success and economic stability throughout the most vulnerable neighborhoods. We seek to promote equity and ensure children and families have access through community-based, culturally competent, and collaborative initiatives. AAYHF's work is focused addressing disparities of racial and socio-economic origin by fostering equity and positive changes in quality of life, health and wellness, education, and economic empowerment by collaborative community engagement that: Gathers and communicates impact and implications, sharing what we have learned from our initiatives and heard from the community. Leverages available resources for maximum impact, focusing on where we align with others and working with allies to collectively drive change The Foundation seeks a VISTA resources to increase its capacity to serve underserved Austin communities through improved development and fundraising capacity. The VISTA will also work to effectively coordinate services and service providers to more efficiently leverage mission aligned resources within the community for a greater impact on addressing the barriers that keep communities in poverty.

Member Duties : The VISTA will build critical capacity in the recruitment of service providers, assessment of current services, development of policies and procedures, and implement relevant and useful service changes. The VISTA will cultivate a full understanding of the Harvest Foundations mission and programs to determine the agency's needs and develop strategies to increase resource and service provider engagement. The VISTA will also work to develop strategies to enhance student engagement through volunteer recruitment and support. In the area of development, the VISTA at the Harvest Foundation will build the agency's capacity through grant research and development of new funding relationships. The VISTA will write grants proposals with a potential outcome of securing $250,000.
