PHENND (The Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development) is a 25-year-old consortium of over 25 colleges and universities in the Greater Philadelphia region. The consortium actively seeks to revitalize local communities and promote civic responsibility through service learning among the region's higher education institutions. PHENND Fellows places passionate and talented college graduates with local Philadelphia nonprofits as AmeriCorps VISTA members. We have a three-fold mission (1) Support local nonprofits fighting poverty across a wide range of issues (2) Training and retaining local talent to stay and work in Philadelphia and (3) Developing the next generation of nonprofit leaders.

Member Duties : PHENND Fellows will have up to 15 specific sites for the 2018-2019 program year. Each of those positions will be listed separately and if you have a specific interest in one or more of them, please apply for them directly. If you are not sure which organization is right for you, please apply to this generic PHENND Fellows position. The individual listings will provide a full set of expectations for the member position description. All PHENND Fellows will receive extensive professional development as a cohort, in addition to any site specific training. PHENND Fellows participate in monthly diversity/equity training, monthly "Dinner with a Civic Leader," and additional monthly programming with other VISTA programs. PHENND Fellows are also allowed to take up to two courses at the La Salle Nonprofit Center paid for by the program.
