LCCT: Each One, Teach One

Each One Teach One was founded in 2004 as a ministry of a local church. It became an independent non-profit organization in 2010 and remains the only non-profit in San Antonio with adult literacy as its mission. The program recruits and trains volunteers from the community to tutor adults functioning at low levels in reading, writing or math, as well as adults seeking high school equivalency, computer literacy and English as a Second Language instruction. Each One Teach One serves over 300 adult learners annually and currently operates out of seven locations throughout San Antonio. The agency partners with other adult education programs, non-profit organizations and employers to reach populations of adults with low literacy skills. Each One Teach One serves any adult 18 years and older in need of its services regardless of income or area of residency. The agency has over 200 trained volunteer tutors supported by 13 paid full time and part time staff.
