CCSR Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory & Policy Analyst

The City & County of Honolulu's Office of Climate Change, Sustainability & Resiliency (CCSR), in partnership with the Corporation for National and Community Service, seeks an environmentally-focused AmeriCorps VISTA to empower our community by creating a more sustainable and resilient O‘ahu, through empowerment, efficiency, and mitigation and adaptation of the effects caused by climate change. This VISTA member will be assigned to assist the CCSR Energy Program Manager to build critical decision-making tools and capacity for ongoing decision-making related to the City’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, and the City’s commitment to abide by the Paris Agreement and Chicago Climate Charter. Importantly, the program is designed to identify weaknesses and present solutions for underserved and vulnerable populations, and to help promote inclusiveness and social equity as integral success factors.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will conduct research to identify and validate source data; organize data into dynamic, adjustable datasets, spreadsheets, or databases; assist the Energy Program Manager to analyze and synthesize data into actionable insights and policy priorities; and then present the findings and conclusions in both static an interactive formats or publicly accessible datasets. In addition, the position will help build and publish to the Internet an interactive Energy and GHG Dashboard for public viewing and education. This will require the VISTA to have demonstrated experience and capabilities in spreadsheet and database software programs as well as a basic understanding of, or feel for, the quantitative and qualitative elements of data science, economics, statistics, and finance.
