Housing Data Quality & Performance Specialist

The City & County of Honolulu's Office of Climate Change, Sustainability & Resiliency (CCSR), in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Housing and the Corporation for National and Community Service, seeks an AmeriCorps VISTA to fight poverty and empower low-income individuals through the creation of more resilient and sustainable communities. This VISTA member will build data and information capacity within the City and its non-profit partners by immersing into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and other selected data systems for the collection, reporting, and analysis of information on programs addressing homelessness and affordable housing on Oahu. This work will assist the Mayor’s Office of Housing and other collaborators (both within the City and external partners) to assess program impact, identify effective programs for scaling, and identify gaps in programming and strategy. Program goals include improving outcomes for affordable housing, senior housing, special needs housing, and the homeless population. The VISTA will help report data and results, and communicate measurable impact to partners and the public.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will review data completeness reports, performance reports and other available reports using HMIS and other selected data sources, and will compare data to service goals and outcome measures. This VISTA will also present data results to the Executive Director of the Mayor's Office of Housing on a weekly basis to discuss if focus needs to be on service deliveries or in data collection and management, and to determine whether improvements need to be made. The collection of data for dashboard integration will include developing data collection tools, communication tools/models, and solicitation of data from key stakeholders, and actual collection of data and information dissemination where gaps exist. Lastly, the VISTA will post pertinent information to the Mayor's Office of Housing website and social media, and develop models for regular communication of results and impact.
