SOTS - TCEDC Resource Development, Taos, NM
 
 
 
Goal of the Project: To build the capacity of resource development at Taos County Economic Development Corporation (TCEDC) to extend outreach to underserved populations, especially youth entering the workforce in rural and native communities in Taos County and beyond, using food programs to strengthen and leverage families into successful food businesses. As well as promotion of healthy eating in connection with the land and water. Objective of the Assignment: To develop, implement, and document resource development centered upon the TCEDC and associated programs such as the Taos Food Center that is focused on breaking breaking the cycle of poverty by leveraging native and rural youth into successful food businesses.

Member Duties : Work with lead supervisor(s) to develop and document program outreach methods to increase funding opportunities, volunteer recruitment, and establish further partnerships with local organizations. Assist with the development, drafting, and completion of fundraising initiatives and grant proposals. Assist with the development and implementation of a viable outreach plan for native and rural youth who have limited economic opportunities. Work with supervisor (s) to link value added income generating activities focused on family health, food sovereignty, and regional practices to the Taos Food Center. Coordinate outreach to partnering organizations such as Native American Food Sovereignty Association (NAFSA), New Mexico Acequia Organization, and regional farms through phone, in person, and community meetings. Identify areas in need of improvement with regard to fundraising and informative materials to better communicate our services.
