The goal of the project is to build the operational capacity of the Hopi Tutskwa Tribal Food Sovereignty Initiatives– specifically, the Hopi Farmers Markets and HTPI Gardens/Orchards/Nurseries– with the goal of increased food security and economic well being of the Hopi community. To develop and improve the Hopi Farmers Markets to help support increased community access to local fresh food and traditional food crops direct from the farmer and to provide a centralized location for local farmers to market their produce, vegetables, and farm products directly to community members. Coordinate and Manage the Hopi Farmers Markets including: • Developing advertisement and market the event. • Manage registration and communicate with vendors, farmers, and community regarding recruitment, outreach, education, and orientation. • Manage, recruit, and direct market volunteers. • Facilitate post market evaluation and prepare written reports. • Develop HFM PowerPoint Presentations, Brochures, Presentation Boards, and outreach materials. 2. Work with farmers to improve supply chain management during the Hopi Farmers Markets. 3. Organize Grower/Farmers Round table discussions to recruit local growers/ farmers and obtain solicitation on Farmer needs. Organize workshops for local farmers to improve their capacity. 4. Attend Hopi Farmers Market Planning Committee Meetings and assist in note taking, implementation of Committee goals and objectives, active participation in Committee planning sessions, and developing reports for the Committee. 5. Organize a HFM Planning Committee Training Retreat. OBJECTIVE: To develop and improve the HTPI community fruit tree/plant start nursery, orchards, and demonstration gardens/farm to increase production, develop a supply chain to local farmers and markets, and increase outreach and marketing to local and regional communities.

Organize Grower/Farmers Round table discussions to recruit local growers/ farmers and obtain solicitation on Farmer needs. Organize workshops for local farmers to improve their capacity. 4. Attend Hopi Farmers Market Planning Committee Meetings, implementation of Committee goals and objectives, and developing reports for the Committee. 5. Organize a HFM Planning Committee Training Retreat.
