College Health Corps Community-Based Positions 2018-19

Low-income community members face an array of barriers to affordable, quality, and culturally-responsive health care, mental health supports, dental services, wellness programs, health insurance, emergency food, nutritional services, and health education programs. College Health Corps VISTA members serving at clinics and nonprofits promote health equity and address the social determinants of health. VISTAs work on capacity-building projects such as outreach, health and wellness messaging, grant writing, partnership development, and piloting new programs. These projects are in partnership with university- and college-based programs. This program provides an excellent gap year experience for those interested in fields such as public health, medical studies, social justice, and many more. The College Health Corps VISTA program is supported by Minnesota Campus Compact which supports civic engagement and democratic renewal through its diverse network of colleges and universities. *** Specific sites and positions will be announced on March 7, 2018 at http://mncampuscompact.org/what-we-do/initiatives/college-health-corps/. Submit an application now for an early screening interview and priority referral to positions come March 7. ***
