2017 Substance/Opiate Abuse Reduction Coordinator MILWAUKEE
 
 
 
The location is MILWAUKEE, WI. Goal of the Project: Increasing organizational capacity to address the opioid epidemic is imperative to reducing abuse and addiction, improving health, and reducing death of users by: 1. Collaborate with school districts and others to reduce youth access to unauthorized prescription or illegal drugs with a focus on opioids. 2. Work in partnership with key stakeholders in engaging about the opiate addiction in Milwaukee County, specifically those barriers faced by residents struggling with opiate addiction. This will include identifying the barriers faced and ultimately identifying strategies to address such barriers. 3. Collaborate with Milwaukee County Substance Abuse Prevention (MCSAP) Coalition to raise awareness within the county around the opioid and methamphetamine epidemic as well as other issues related to alcohol and other drug use and abuse. 4. Develop collaborative opportunities to address substance use and abuse with the county safety-net providers This project is a collaboration between the Wisconsin Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (WAFCC) and Muslim Community and Health Center (MCHC). Culturally competent, knowledge of Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, Burmese is a plus. **Interviews are done on a rolling basis. Please submit application as soon as possible to ensure consideration. Member Duties : This Milwaukee, WI project is a collaboration between the Wisconsin Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (WAFCC) and Muslim Community and Health Center (MCHC). Culturally competent, knowledge of Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, Burmese is a plus. The mission of the WAFCC is to support, strengthen, and advocate for the uniqueness of the Wisconsin free and charitable clinics, the patients they serve, and the communities with whom they partner. The location for this project is Muslim Community and Health Center in Milwaukee, WI. The Muslim Community and Health Center of Wisconsin mission is to strengthen the Milwaukee community and increase the well-being of its residents by providing free and charitable health care services, social services, counseling, emergency assistance, educational and job-training programs. MCHC’s guiding principles are based on the Muslim values of compassion, kindness, peace, and diversity.
