Community Outreach and Prevention Coordinator VISTA

Central Nebraska Council on Alcoholism and Addictions recently celebrated their 50th year of offering hope and changing lives. CNCAA fosters healthy lifestyles by preventing addiction, sharing resources, and supporting recovery. The Council serves central Nebraska with alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention education, information, referral, intervention and recovery services. The overall goal is to provide resources that will empower youth and adults in an effort to increase the number of youth and adults making healthy lifestyle choices.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will research and develop action strategies to increase education and awareness about emerging issues (opioid abuse, human trafficking, etc.) in Hall, Hamilton, Howard, and Merrick Counties. The focus areas the VISTA member will achieve: 1) ENGAGE with community members to build stronger local partnerships, 2) COORDINATE and ASSIST in development and implementation strategies to meet emerging needs, 3) EDUCATE and RAISE awareness in the community, and 4) GROW resources and recruit volunteers. The VISTA member will expand relationships and partnerships in area communities to address initiatives and create possibilities that will improve lives and strengthen communities.
