AWU Social Justice Learning Institute - Resource Development

The All Ways Up Multi-Site College Access and Success Program goals are to increase 1) the number of low-income youth of color who go to and graduate from college and 2) the number of graduates who are financially literate and have the skills required to pursue meaningful employment and/or a career and expects to benefit over 1,100 additional low-income youth by the end of the three-year project. The eleven VISTA members will serve at seven different sites and their work will focus on activities that include resource development, program expansion, communications, volunteer generation and program development. The Social Justice Learning Institute (SJLI) will host two VISTA members. SJLI works to build capacity for individuals and communities to advocate for their needs while training and building leaders. We educate and empower youth and community members. We work with youth, residents, local schools, school districts and city officials to increase educational opportunities through innovative programs and sustainable practices. SJLI’s project will build its capacity with two VISTA members who will focus on resource development and communications.
