SBC Veterans & Homeless

AmeriCorps members will assist qualifying individuals find and retain appropriate housing, find the resources to support use of appropriate housing, and assist individuals in accessing the appropriate housing in Santa Barbara County to include the cities of Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, Goleta, Lompoc, and Santa Maria. AmeriCorps members will work with qualified individuals to assist them in supportive services, such as attending medical appointments and applying for public benefits, with an end goal of attaining housing. AmeriCorps members will also recruit one time and on-going volunteers to assist with service activities and to participate in Day of Service events.

Member Duties : Members will assist veterans & people experiencing homelessness find and retain appropriate housing, find the resources to support use of appropriate housing, and assist individuals in accessing the appropriate housing in Santa Barbara County to include the cities of Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, Goleta, Lompoc, Santa Ynez, Buellton and Santa Maria.

Program Benefits : Childcare assistance if eligible , Training , Education award upon successful completion of service , Living Allowance , Medical coverage for FT members, .

Terms :
Permits attendance at school during off hours , Car recommended , Permits working at another job during off hours .
