Communications and Events

Prosperity Indiana supports a network of individuals and organizations – community-based nonprofits, governments and private enterprises – by providing capacity, financial resources, expertise, and connections that make community development work in Indiana. The Communications and Events VISTA will be responsible for membership services and support communications strategies through: supporting content delivery for editorial calendar by writing emails, making phone calls, recording audio and video, producing audio and video content; developing and publishing content on Prosperity Indiana blog and social media platforms; developing relationships with mission-aligned organizations to support Prosperity Indiana’s dissemination and engagement, including constructively engaging in relevant online conversations and leveraging partner networks; and supporting membership related activities, such as the annual membership campaign, monthly e-newsletter, Homeward Bound events across Indiana, and the Prosperity Indiana Summit. Candidates must possess strong organizational and leadership skills, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a team player. They should be customer service oriented with a passion for communications, and event planning. A basic knowledge of affordable housing, community economic development and nonprofits is also relevant. Prosperity Indiana is located in downtown Indianapolis at The Platform, a co-working space that houses national, regional, statewide and local nonprofits. The Platform is part of the Indianapolis City Market, which hosts vendors and weekly farmers’ markets, as well as the Indy Bike Hub/YMCA. Contact Jessica Love, Associate Executive Director, at jlove@prosperityindiana.org for more information. Start date: November 2017. www.prosperityindiana.org.
