The mission of the SDVC is to improve and support the military and veteran communities in San Diego County by inspiring and encouraging collaboration and cooperation among service providers and strengthening veteran serving organizations; advocating on behalf of veterans and their families for better integration of services; mapping community veteran-serving assets; measuring outcomes of SDVC partner interventions; identifying gaps in services; improving communication between veterans and providers to disseminate information and determine needs, and providing guidance and leadership which affects local change and serve as a model for other communities to emulate.

Member Duties : 1. Gather operational data from SDVC members to build collective grants that fund gaps in veterans services. Research demographics and socio-economic factors and identify opportunities and solutions for grants. 2. Develop an educational and training curriculum that SDVC's organizations can use to learn how to gather data and measure collective impact. Develop informational material and identify how collective impact can be leveraged to develop and deliver solutions. 3. Increase SDVC's visibility via websites, social media, press releases regarding member organizations and their capability to support and serve the veteran community. Conduct community outreach to invite new organizations to attend and join the SDVC. 4. Organize SDVC multi-member training and fundraiser events. Build cooperative partnerships and demonstrate collaboration among members developing complementary solutions to common issues, which can be used to educate SDVC's members about successes and challenges.
