2018 Substance/Opiate Abuse Reduction Coordinator JEFFERSON
 
 
 
This substance/opiate abuse reduction project is collaboration between Wisconsin Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (WAFCC) & Jefferson County Human Services Department (JCHSD). The location for this project is Jefferson County Human Services Department in Jefferson , WI. The mission of the Wisconsin Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (WAFCC) is to support, strengthen, and advocate for the uniqueness of the Wisconsin free and charitable clinics, the patients they serve, and the communities with whom they partner. Jefferson County Human Services Department's mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families in Jefferson County. Currently, individuals and families in Jefferson County are experiencing the impact of the opioid epidemic and the resurgence of methamphetamine. **Interviews are done on a rolling basis. Member Duties : Goal of the Project: 1. Collaborate with Jefferson County’s Alcohol Tobacco and other Drug Addiction Prevention (ATODA) Coalition to raise awareness within the county around the opioid and methamphetamine epidemic as well as other issues related to alcohol and other drug use and abuse. 2. Work in partnership with key stakeholders in brainstorming and combating barriers to housing in Jefferson County, specifically those barriers faced by residents struggling with opiate addiction. This will include identifying the housing barriers faced and ultimately identifying strategies to address such barriers. 3. Explore the implementation of Peer Recovery Coaches in Jefferson County. 4. Develop collaborative opportunities to address substance use and abuse with the county safety-net providers. The location for this project is Jefferson County Human Services Department in Jefferson , WI.
