Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua Volunteer Program VISTA
The Club actively seeks the youth in the greater Nashua, NH community who need us most. More than 70% of the close to 3,000 youth who were members in 2016 live in low-income households, and 66% live in low-income households. Providing a safe haven where kids can develop their potential and prepare for adulthood is critical. Our Academic Success programs help instill skills to succeed in and complete school, improve performance and confidence and prepare students for higher education and/or career opportunities that will help them transition to being responsible, productive and self-sufficient adults. The program includes homework and study help, tutoring, parent involvement, collaboration with schools and other organizations, high yield learning activities and incentives and recognition for accomplishments.

Member Duties : Volunteer support for all activities is paramount to creating positive experiences for our kids. From the Board level to chaperones for field trips, our volunteers play a vital role in helping kids one-on-one and in group settings to achieve success. The VISTA Member will be the primary contact for volunteers interested in helping our members, 5-18 years of age and for all volunteer activities. Volunteers are essential to our club, helping our club members who are mainly at-risk youth develop their potential and prepare for adulthood. The VISTA member will do an initial intake of information; send the volunteer a packet of materials, track paperwork and input information in database. The VISTA member will assist in the coordination of the volunteer program and work to develop a schedule of recognition methods to thank volunteers for their efforts on behalf of the Club members. In addition, The VISTA member will support stewardship efforts for the Resource Development team.
