Global Game Changers Superhero Educators

Global Game Changers (GGC) is seeking members of our community in Louisville, Kentucky, looking to serve and make a difference in the lives of at-risk elementary schoolchildren in partnership with AmeriCorps. We seek to address the 6,000-hour enrichment gap that results from lack of out-of-school learning opportunities and holds students back from academic achievement. GGC uses a service learning, character development, and social-emotional curriculum to teach students that we all have a superpower to make a difference. We discover that superpower through a special equation: MY TALENT + MY HEART = MY SUPERPOWER! Students cultivate their talents and explore 12 different heart causes – from bullying to environment to poverty to human rights – that they might care about. They combine these two powerful forces to design and implement service projects that Ignite Good!® - do something nice for someone else without expecting anything in return. Position Description: Join us as an AmeriCorps member who will assist at events, support programs and organization needs, and serve as a classroom educator leader for our free, high-quality, evidence-based summer programs, where we empower elementary school-age students primarily from title 1 schools through philanthropy to build essential skills for growth, including leadership, social-emotional, and academic skills. Background check required. AmeriCorps Benefits: • Living allowance • Education Award (can be used to pay back loans or for education costs moving forward, within 7 years) • Opportunity for loan forbearance
