Flint Recovery Corps
The United Way of Genesee County will place full-time and half-time AmeriCorps members in community who will provide programming related to food security and nutrition, behavioral and developmental health, early education, and medical management as strategies towards long-term recovery from the water crisis, particularly for special populations, in Flint, MI. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increasing access to nutrition and food security, increasing health knowledge and positive behaviors, increasing access to healthcare and medical homes, and increasing access to early education programs. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 220 volunteers who will be engaged in outreach to clients and providing services to families and other residents.

Member Duties : Flint Recovery Corps members will be assigned to agencies in the community that are providing long-term water-response in the areas of food security and nutrition, medical management, early education, and behavioral and developmental health. Members strive to increase access to services, share information, build capacity for organizations and connect residents with vital opportunities.
