Outreach and Partnerships Manager VISTA

TeenSHARP is a community based organization that prepares low-income and minority students for highly selective colleges and premier leadership opportunities, while training them to lead a college readiness movement among their peers. TeenSHARP deploys a rigorous four-pronged approach to college access at the individual child level; parent and family level; school-building level; and state and national level. Through its signature College Access Ambassador Program, low-income and underrepresented high school students will receive over 200 hours of leadership, academic success skill-building and college knowledge training each year. Through this rigorous training, College Access Ambassadors will be positioned for acceptance and substantial scholarships at the nation’s most highly competitive schools, while becoming leaders in providing accurate information and advice to empower college-going culture amongst their peers. The Outreach and Partnerships Manager VISTA will join the TeenSHARP team and help to strengthen the coordinated response to increase diversity in higher education and awareness around existing inequities in education at the K-12 level. The VISTA will develop a curriculum for after school college access workshops and train volunteers to facilitate each workshop. As the program continues to grow it will be important for the VISTA to establish partnerships with local high schools and middle schools to gain a pool of potential students to recruit. This opportunity is perfect for someone interested in pursuing a career in education, education administration, college access, community development, and volunteer management.
