Ascend Indiana Talent Pipeline Development Coordinator
Ascend Indiana, launched out of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), exists to create stronger alignment between the supply of skilled talent and demand from employers in Central Indiana. Our vision is for every Indiana citizen to have the opportunity to pursue a meaningful career path and for every Indiana employer to have access to the skilled workforce necessary to thrive. By 2020 at least 62 percent of Indiana jobs will require a post-secondary educated worker, yet, only 42 percent of working adults in Central Indiana have an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or above. This leaves over 200,000 residents without the necessary skills to obtain jobs of the future. This leads to stagnating economic growth and prosperity for individuals and our region. Ascend Indiana aims to address these issues by creating opportunities for people to pursue self-sustaining career paths with a focus on serving individuals from low-income backgrounds. Ascend Indiana is seeking a motivated, self-starter to lead the research and development efforts for the creation of custom talent pipelines within Central Indiana. These programs are focused on creating new, self-sustaining career opportunities within the healthcare, human services, and life sciences fields for Central Indiana residents through partnerships with Central Indiana employers and universities. VISTA members will work with a highly collaborative team throughout their term of service and will receive continuous professional development opportunities.
