Ascend Indiana, launched out of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), exists to create stronger alignment between the supply of skilled talent and demand from employers in Central Indiana. Our vision is for every Indiana citizen to have the opportunity to pursue a meaningful career path and for every Indiana employer to have access to the skilled workforce necessary to thrive. By 2020 at least 62 percent of Indiana jobs will require a post-secondary educated worker, yet, only 42 percent of working adults in Central Indiana have an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or above. This leaves over 200,000 residents without the necessary skills to obtain jobs of the future. This leads to stagnating economic growth and prosperity for individuals and our region. Ascend Indiana aims to address these issues by creating opportunities for people to pursue self-sustaining career paths with a focus on serving individuals from low-income backgrounds. Ascend Indiana is seeking a motivated, self-starter to lead the research and development efforts for the creation of custom talent pipelines within Central Indiana. These programs are focused on creating new, self-sustaining career opportunities within the healthcare, human services, and life sciences fields for Central Indiana residents through partnerships with Central Indiana employers and universities. VISTA members will work with a highly collaborative team throughout their term of service and will receive continuous professional development opportunities. Member Duties : The Talent Pipeline Development Coordinator will work with a highly collaborative team to support the research and development of custom talent pipelines within Central Indiana. They will work with employers and universities to create new, self-sustaining career opportunities for low-income post-secondary graduates within the healthcare, human services, and life sciences fields. Duties will include: research of healthcare related issues; development of landscape analyses to clearly identify the challenges of those fields; convening of employer and education partners; researching marketing and recruitment best practices, prioritizing low-income post-secondary students. Ascend is looking for a motivated, self-starter who can be given a need or objective, break it down into executable parts, identify questions, gather priorities, set and manage milestones, and execute effectively. Candidates with excellent analytical, writing, and research skills will excel in this role.
