Our AmeriCorps program is a community service and professional development opportunity wrapped into one, this experience enables you to do great things for communities in need while getting in-person training and exposure in the health care field. As a AmeriCorps fellows, you will serve side-by-side with health center staff, provide culturally and linguistically appropriate health education, outreach, referrals and enrollment into programs directly to community members while getting the skills you need to pursue a health profession. Member Duties : Position will consist of: - Health Education/ Health Coaching/Care Coordination by Improve Utilization of Health Services and Programs such as provide health education in one-on-one or group settings; assist individuals with health related services/programs; follow-up as needed. -Case Management/Patient Navigation: Assist individuals with the enrollment process for health programs and health insurance plans. - Community Engagement & Outreach: Conduct outreach efforts by educating the community about resources, programs, and health care options. Service Projects: coordinate, plan, participate in various community service projects. - Volunteer Recruitment and Training/Management: Assist with recruitment, training, and retention of non-AmeriCorps volunteers; assist with the management of non-AmeriCorps volunteers. - On-going Training: attend training on various health topics and professional development.
