Central DE Habitat Construction Site Leader
 
 
 
Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit that provides affordable homeownership opportunities to those that are living in Kent County, Delaware. The office is located in Dover, Delaware. We build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. AmeriCorps members recruit, engage, train volunteers at various levels throughout the organization as well as play a key role in increasing our capacity to be able to serve more homeowners each year. The ReStore sells new and used household and construct goods which plays a vital role in carrying out our mission. The Construction Site Leader will oversee and supervise volunteer construction at each location and recruit and manage group builds such as churches, corporations, schools, etc, which will include multiple build sites. This position is Tuesday – Saturday. A desire to serve the mission and goals of Habitat for Humanity, making positive changes in the lives of our partner families. Experience: Prior construction experience and knowledge of building to code is preferred. Experience leading volunteers on a Habitat for Humanity worksite or similar volunteer-driven building program preferred.

Member Duties : • Work with Construction Supervisor to engage volunteers in completing CDHFH’s construction goals • Create a welcoming, inclusive environment for volunteers and partner family members; run a work site that reflects the values of Habitat for Humanity. Lead or assign morning reflections and safety orientations. • Help volunteers stay engaged on the build site. • Work with Construction Supervisor to develop and implement volunteer training. • Ensure that safe construction practices are followed at all times. • Inventory & check quality of materials delivered to site • Ensure that all materials are properly stored and used with minimal waste. • Involve the future homeowners in the construction process; team with regular volunteers • Assure that Habitat has the necessary tools for construction and that they are well maintained
