NSCP Partners of Prevention(POP)
 
 
 
The Partners of Prevention(POP) AmeriCorps Program is a community-based prevention coalition. These community coalition develop prevention programs specific to substance abuse and will utilize AmeriCorps members to address the prescription drug and opioid epidemic that faces Nevada in interventions that would other wise be unavailable to the community. The POP AmeriCorps Program serves counties that are considered rural areas determined by RUCA, medical underserved and/or health professional shortage areas determined by Health and Human services. The counties the POP AmeriCorps Program will serve include Carson City, Washoe, Clark, Storey, Mineral, Pershing, Lander, Humboldt, Nye, Lincoln, Esmeralda, Elko, Eureka and White Pines counties in Nevada. Living allowance, CHW-Lead-PT $12,150 CHW-PT $7,270 Eli Segal Education Award $2,960

Member Duties : The POP AmeriCorps member will be in the community or school setting to educate and provide prevention resources, referrals for opioids, Rx drug, mental health and substance abuse during this intensive program. Full-time leads will serve directly with law enforcement agencies and health care organizations to promote awareness of the opioid and substance abuse issues in the communities and providing direct services to individuals and education to the organizations and the community they will serve.
