Heartland Housing develops and manages sustainable, innovative and high-quality affordable housing. Develop resident leadership skills and opportunities in three main areas of activity: Volunteer activity, building opportunities for access to and investment in community resources and engagement in surrounding community. The end result of the VISTA’s work will be to increase the activity and leadership of the low income residents, specifically formerly homeless or very low income people, on the everyday issues that affect both their lives and the shaping of the neighborhood and city around them.

Member Duties : The Resident Engagement Coordinator VISTA will engage residents in their building and their neighborhood to develop a sense of ownership, belonging and goal achievement. Develop or revise a user-friendly community resource guide for 2 properties: (a) Build on previous VISTA’s work, keeping online sources current, developing relationships with local resource organizations, collaborating with like-organizations on building resources for the Uptown/Edgewater community.
