Arizona Serve - Pima Health Dept Overdose Program
 
 
 
Pima County Health Department’s mission is to serve the citizens of Pima County through public health education and awareness. This is accomplished through our collaborative efforts set forth with community stakeholders to include but not limited to law enforcement agencies, hospitals, behavior mental health clinics, nonprofit organizations, faith based organizations and other governmental agencies/departments. The AmeriCorps VISTA service member will Increase collaborative community outreach efforts to provide education and awareness around prescription drug abuse/misuse to all members of the community. The project includes assisting the PCHD Prescription Drug Overdose Program Coordinator with presentations provided to professional institutions, school administrators/educators, students, and the general public. **Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Member Duties : The VISTA member will attend and complete the Rx 360 train-the-trainer toolkit, attend and participate in Healthy Pima 2.0 meetings, interact with community members by providing informative materials, archive statistical data from all opioid-related resources, create tables and graphs to tell a story for PowerPoint presentations, input data into an online centralized network, provide updated web resources related to opioids through the creation of a central, on-demand tool that provides such resources, conduct research on MAT availability, create engaging Facebook content by uploading and sharing articles and videos with key stakeholders on behalf of the health department, as well as coordinate radio, news wheels and newspaper stories.
