Communities In Schools of Central Texas Full-Time Member
 
 
 
Communities In Schools of Central Texas (CIS of CT) AmeriCorps members will be placed at one of 66 public schools in Travis, Hays, and Caldwell counties and focus on serving a caseload of students for the duration of the school year. Members are placed at schools based on school needs, geographic location, and elementary or middle school level preference (when possible). Students served by CIS of CT need help with their academics, guidance from a trusted adult, and a sense of belonging. As an AmeriCorps member, you will help young people stay in school and achieve in life by providing one-on-one mentoring and supportive guidance, tutoring and academic support, leading and facilitating student-driven service learning project, and much more! Member Duties : Full-time members will be providing one-to-one tutoring and mentoring for a caseload of at least 20 students in an elementary or middle school. Members are supervised by a Communities In Schools social worker or professional counselor. This is a great opportunity for individuals considering a career in social work, education, or working with youth.
