Nutrition Services VISTA

As a private, independent, non-profit organization, The Idaho Foodbank (IFB) and its 200+ partner agencies distributed food for more than 15 million meals in Idaho’s 44 counties during its Fiscal Year 2017. Many of the food recipients are the working poor that fall in the same coverage gap that exists with Food Stamps and The Affordable Care Act - they don’t make enough money to buy adequate food or health coverage, but they make too much to qualify for benefits or subsidies. These Idahoans, along with those in lower income brackets, are requesting additional services, including access to healthcare. The Idaho Foodbank wishes to develop collaborative partnerships to provide access to food, healthcare and health insurance coverage/enrollment assistance all in a one-stop-shop experience.
