Families Moving Forward: Volunteer Engagement
 
 
 
Families Moving Forward was created in 2016 after the merger of Genesis Home and Durham Interfaith Hospitality Network. Current, it serves up to 100 families annually with as many as 180 children making it the largest housing and services provider for homeless families in Durham. The VISTA will be responsible for enhancing the capacity of Families Moving Foward by increasing its presence in the local community and boost volunteer engagement by developing and implementing a strategic and sustainable communication and volunteer engagement plan.

Member Duties : The member will increase FMF"s online and social media presence by assessing its current social media strategy and developing a sustainable plan to increase online traffic. This will include increasing the organization's presence online and promoting staff, board, and partner engagement with social media platforms. VISTA will complete the Service Enterprise re-certification process by engaging with appropriate staff to complete important goals, schedule SEI coaching calls, and cohort meeting, and recommend new SEI goals as needed. The member will develop a volunteer appreciation plan to recognize the organization's valuable volunteers. They will develop a Project Leader program to encourage volunteers to engage as leaders on group projects on an ongoing basis. This position requires unique service hours: This is a full-time position serving from 12:00pm-8:00 pm M-Th and 9:00am-5:00 pm on Friday.
